Saree size guide
All figures are body measurements in inches, not garment measurements. Our tailors add the ease.
A saree drapes on any body. The only thing that has to fit is the blouse — so that is what this chart sizes. Blouse sizes are named by bust measurement: a size 36 blouse fits a 36 inch bust.
| Blouse size | Bust | Under bust | Shoulder | Armhole |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | 30 | 26 | 13.0 | 13.5 |
| 32 | 32 | 28 | 13.5 | 14.0 |
| 34 | 34 | 30 | 14.0 | 14.5 |
| 36 | 36 | 32 | 14.5 | 15.5 |
| 38 | 38 | 34 | 15.0 | 16.0 |
| 40 | 40 | 36 | 15.5 | 17.0 |
| 42 | 42 | 38 | 16.0 | 17.5 |
| 44 | 44 | 40 | 16.5 | 18.5 |
Standard blouse length is 15 in from the shoulder seam, with an elbow sleeve at 9 in. Both are changed free of charge on a made-to-measure order.
Between two sizes? Choose made to measure. On this store it costs the same as stitched.

| Measurement | |
|---|---|
| Saree length | 5.5 m · 6.0 yd |
| Saree width | 1.06–1.10 m · 42–44 in |
| Blouse piece | 0.80 m · 31 in, attached |
| Pallu | Approx. 1.0 m of the length |
| Petticoat | Not included — ask us and we will add one |
- Fall and pico are done before dispatch on every saree. You do not need to visit a tailor first.
- Drape height. A 5.5 m saree drapes comfortably up to about 5 ft 9 in with a 2 in heel. Taller than that, tell us and we cut the petticoat higher rather than shortening the drape.
- Unstitched means the blouse piece arrives as fabric. Stitched means we make it to a standard size from the chart. Custom means we cut it to your eight measurements.
- Bust Around the fullest part of the chest, tape level and flat across the back.
- Under bust Directly beneath the bust, snug.
- Waist The narrowest point, usually just above the navel.
- Hip The fullest part, about 8 in below the waist.
- Shoulder From one shoulder bone across the back to the other.
- Blouse length From the shoulder seam to where the blouse should end.
- Sleeve length From the shoulder down to where the sleeve should stop.
- Height with heels Standing in the shoes you will wear. Sets the petticoat length.
Take the tape over light clothing — jackets, knitwear and padded layers add inches. Keep it firm but not tight, and level all the way round.
Not sure about a figure? Send it to us on WhatsApp and we will check it against the chart before anything is cut. You can also send a garment that already fits you well and we will work from that.

- We reply with a photograph of the dyed cloth or the nearest yarn we hold.
- Nothing is cut until you have said yes to the colour.
- From your approval, allow about two weeks on top of the delivery window shown above.
Screens lie about colour and we will not pretend otherwise. If you would rather hold the cloth first, ask us for swatches on WhatsApp.
Your measurements
Body measurements, not garment measurements — our tailors add the ease. Unsure about any of them? Ask us on WhatsApp — send what you have and we will check it, or work from a garment that already fits you.
